Help
Before getting started, make sure you have the following:
What you'll see: Once set up, the MiroSync panel gives you two main actions: "Add monday.com items to board" to browse and import items, and "Send notes to monday.com" to convert sticky notes into monday.com tasks.
Installation
Install from the monday.com Marketplace
Find "MiroSync for monday.com" on the monday.com Marketplace and click install. This adds an "Export to Miro" action to your monday.com boards.
Add MiroSync to Miro
To use MiroSync inside Miro, you need to install it on the Miro side as well. You have two options:
On a managed Miro workspace? If your company restricts which third-party apps can be installed, you'll see a "Contact your team admin" dialog instead of the Miro consent screen. See our admin approval guide for the steps to resolve it.
Option 1 — Export from monday.com first
Select any row in a monday.com board, click Apps → Export to Miro. On first use, you'll be guided through authorizing both monday.com and Miro. This automatically installs MiroSync in your Miro team.
Note: The MiroSync icon will appear automatically in Miro after your first export from monday.com. You don't need to install the Miro app separately.
Option 2 — Install in Miro directly
If you want the Miro panel right away without doing an export first, use this link to install MiroSync directly in your Miro team:
Install MiroSync in Miro →First-Time Setup
The first time you use MiroSync, you'll need to authorize both your monday.com and Miro accounts. This only happens once.
Authorize monday.com
You'll be redirected to monday.com to grant MiroSync access to your boards, items, and columns.
Authorize Miro
You'll then be asked to authorize access to your Miro team. This allows MiroSync to create and update app cards on your behalf.
Ready to go!
Once both authorizations are complete, MiroSync is fully set up on both sides. You'll stay connected across sessions — no need to authorize again.
Tip: If your organization uses monday.com admin controls, make sure third-party app integrations are enabled in your monday.com account settings.
Import monday.com Items
Browse your monday.com boards and bring items into Miro as interactive app cards — with status, assignees, priority, and due dates displayed at a glance.
Select a board
Click "Add monday.com items to board" in the app panel, then choose a monday.com board from the dropdown. You can also search for specific items using the search bar.
Browse and select items
Items are displayed in a table showing their name, people, status, and other column values. Use the checkboxes to select the items you want to import. You can switch between list and grid view.
Import to your board
Click "Import X Items" to add your selected items to the Miro board. Each item becomes a connected app card that stays in sync with monday.com.
Tip: You can import items to multiple boards. Each card retains its connection to the original monday.com item for syncing.
Working with a large board? If the monday.com board you want to import from contains a lot of items, we recommend sending the items from the monday.com side instead — select the specific rows you need and use Apps → Export to Miro. See Export to Miro Directly from monday.com.
Update monday.com Items from Miro
Edit any synced monday.com app card directly on your Miro board. Changes are saved back to monday.com instantly — no need to switch tools.
Expand the card
Click the expand icon in the top-right corner of any monday.com app card on your Miro board. This opens the full card view with all editable fields.
Update fields
Edit the item name, people, status, dates, priority, and other column values directly in the expanded view.
Save changes
Click "Save Changes" to push your updates to monday.com instantly. The Miro card updates to reflect the new values.
Convert Sticky Notes to monday.com Tasks
Turn your Miro brainstorming sessions into actionable monday.com tasks. Select sticky notes on your board and convert them directly into monday.com items.
Select sticky notes
Select one or more sticky notes on your Miro board, then click "Send notes to monday.com" in the app panel. The panel will show how many notes are selected.
Choose a board and group
Select the monday.com board and group where you want the new items to be created using the "Select Monday Board" and "Select Monday Group" dropdowns.
Convert
Click "Convert to Monday card" to create the items. Your sticky notes will be replaced with connected app cards linked to the newly created monday.com items.
Paste a monday.com URL
The fastest way to add a single item: paste any monday.com item URL directly onto your Miro board. It will instantly create a connected app card with all the item's details.
Export to Miro Directly from monday.com
Send monday.com items to Miro without opening the Miro app panel. Select one or more rows in a monday.com board, use the Apps menu, and export them directly to your Miro board.
Select rows in monday.com
In your monday.com board, check the checkbox next to one or more items you want to export.
Open the Apps menu
In the action bar that appears at the bottom of the board, click Apps and select Export to Miro.
Choose a Miro board and export
Select the target Miro board from the dropdown and click Export to Miro. The selected items will be added as synced app cards on that board.
Update Miro Cards from monday.com
Any changes you make to items in monday.com are automatically reflected on the connected Miro cards in real time. No manual refresh needed.
Troubleshooting
I don't see my monday.com boards
- Make sure you've completed the monday.com authorization step
- Check that you have access to the boards in your monday.com account
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting your monday.com account
Cards aren't updating in real time
- Real-time sync requires an active webhook connection. Try re-importing the items
- Only changes to displayed fields (name, status, assignee, priority, date) trigger card updates
- There may be a brief delay (a few seconds) between the monday.com change and the Miro card update
Authorization failed or expired
- Your monday.com authorization may have expired. Click "Connect monday.com" again to re-authorize
- Make sure pop-ups are enabled for the authorization window to open
- If you recently changed your monday.com password, you'll need to re-authorize
Miro says "Contact your team admin" when I try to connect
If you see a Miro dialog saying "Installation for MiroSync for monday.com is not possible at this time. Your team admin will be able to help you install this app," your Miro workspace is managed by an admin who decides which third-party apps members can install.
You can't bypass this yourself. Our admin guide walks through the steps your Miro admin needs to take:
Edits from Miro aren't saving to monday.com
- Ensure you have write access to the monday.com board
- Check that the item still exists in monday.com (it may have been deleted)
- If the save button is disabled, make sure you've changed at least one field value
